A variety of skin surgical procedures are routinely performed in our office, mostly using local anesthesia.
Types of skin surgery include:
- Skin biopsy (punch biopsy, shave biopsy, incisional biopsy and excision biopsy)
- Excision of skin lesions such as moles, cysts, fatty tumor (lipoma)
- Electric cautery for treating warts, skin tags, and early skin cancers
- Skin grafting is sometimes used for repairing skin wound created by surgery
- Flaps are also used for wound repair after surgical removal of big skin lesions
- Mohs microscopically controlled excision to treat difficult skin cancers
- Cryotherapy (Liquid Nitrogen) for treating warts, irritant benign lesions
